In the amount of 34.5 million dollars, the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani and Mary Eileen Devitt, on behalf of USAID, have signed the grant agreement for development objectives, which aims to provide better services to the citizens of Kosovo.
The President of the country, Vjosa Osmani, while showing the importance of this project that benefits Kosovo, added that the USA has been and remains a dedicated and steadfast partner of the people of Kosovo in this regard.
Osmani also said that in addition to financial support, the American people over the years have shown a continuous partnership built on values, as she said “a partnership built on mutual trust, trust in a Kosovo that, in every decision, has its people at the center of attention”.
Meanwhile, the US ambassador to Kosovo, Jeffrey Hovenier, said that this will help Kosovo to integrate further into European markets and bring the country closer to Euro-Atlantic institutions such as the European Union.
He has also emphasized US aid for years. As he said, 25 years have passed since the US first started providing this kind of aid to the people of Kosovo, and in that time, more than one billion US dollars have been given to support the Kosovo people.
