Workers of the “Prishtina Parking” public enterprise protested today over unpaid and delayed salaries.
They demanded the payment of their June salaries, as well as 70% of the August 2025 salary that remains unpaid. According to them, if the salaries are not paid before the 5th of the month, they will hold protests every month, KosovaPress reports.
The head of the workers’ union at the enterprise, Flamur Hajdari, called for a solution from the Mayor of Prishtina, Përparim Rama, adding that this is not the first time they have faced salary-related problems.
“The reason we gathered today is that the salary that was supposed to be paid has still not been executed. Today is the 7th; according to our contract, we have the right to wait until the 5th. After the 5th, it has still not been paid. The reason we gathered today… Not all workers are here, because we have left some at their posts so as not to neglect the work completely, but nevertheless, we are waiting for it to be paid during the day. Our goal is also to call on the mayor, Mr. Përparim Rama, to reflect on our enterprise, because we have been in crisis for quite some time. This is not the first time we have had salary issues, but almost every month we are left wondering whether it will be paid or not,” Hajdari said.
Meanwhile, union member Safet Zuka said the protest had been announced in advance.
“We have had meetings, regular meetings with the union… with the enterprise all the time. We warned them and gave them a kind of ultimatum that if salaries are delayed and are not paid on time, we will take action, which is what we are doing now,” Zuka said.
The workers expressed frustration, saying that the problem has been repeating and that no lasting solution has been found regarding salary payments.
