In Prishtina, the new building of the higher professional secondary school 7 Shtatori, in the programs of trade, hospitality, and tourism, has been inaugurated.
This project was financed by the Municipality of Prishtina and the Luxembourg Agency for Development and Cooperation (LuxDev).
At the inauguration of the new school building, the mayor of the capital, Përparim Rama, and the Ambassador of the Government of Luxembourg to Kosovo, Eric Dietz, participated, where it was said that this is a big step for vocational education.
Mayor of Prishtina, Përparim Rama, said that the generations who will graduate from this school will also serve the needs of the capital.
“This is a new school now with the development of the capital, with the development of Kosovo, with the development of tourism and hospitality. Every year we have around 35 percent more tourists in Prishtina, and throughout Kosovo, our country has also needed a school like this, where now we will have new generations of students who will be able to develop their professional capacities to serve the needs of the capital, to reach European and global levels,” Rama said.
The Ambassador of the Government of Luxembourg to Kosovo, Eric Dietz, also said that this vocational school is of great importance.
“Luxembourg is known for the broad support it has provided to competence schools in Ferizaj, in the competence school in Prizren, and now here in Prishtina… This school is very important because it has been under the development and support of the municipal leadership… The Municipality of Prishtina paid for the building, while our Development and Cooperation Agency helped in the design and equipping with tools… If you look back, you will also see another good example of another school where cooperation between Luxembourg and the Municipality of Prishtina is visible,” he said.
Lah Nitaj, a representative from the Ministry of Education, said that the young women and men attending this school will help the economy of the country’s institutions.
“It happens rarely in history, very rarely even, that school celebrations are also manifested with other joys, such as the great joy of all of us I believe, but you who are inside the school, to inaugurate a new, modern, model school which ensures and guarantees that all our young women and men receive knowledge, qualifications, and competencies that are necessary today for our economy. These will primarily serve them for independence, professionalism, and career advancement, but will also greatly ease the family burden and be a strong support for the economy of the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo,” he said.
After the inauguration of the new school building, the director of 7 Shtatori, Hatixhe Retkoceri, said that this school will become a model center of knowledge and professionalism.
“The new building is a big step for vocational education. It will serve the development of programs in hospitality, tourism, and trade, providing more modern conditions for practical learning in this field. Our school provides teaching in four programs: chefs, as you can see dressed in our uniforms; hotel reception assistants on the other side; travel assistants for retail and wholesale trade,” she concluded.
The new building of the higher professional secondary school 7 Shtatori, in the programs of trade, hospitality, and tourism, is an investment of 2.2 million euros.
