Osmani congratulates Syria on Liberation Day: Both our countries have known the darkest chapters of oppression

The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has congratulated the Syrian people on Liberation Day.

In a message posted on her official profile on “X”, Osmani said that both states have known dark chapters of oppression and injustice, KosovoPress reports.

“This day does not only symbolize regained freedom, but also the rebirth of hope of the people. Both our states, Kosovo and Syria, have known the darkest chapters of oppression and injustice and unimaginable pain. But we know what it means to rise, to transform pain into purpose and strength. We have remained steadfast in our belief that no power can extinguish the people’s desire for freedom, and we have learned that justice, even if delayed, always finds a voice. The freedom of the people of Kosovo was earned through great sacrifices and courage, and we know that the same energy defines the people of Syria, who have endured so much, yet never gave up faith that tomorrow will be better. It is this shared energy of resilience, dignity and hope that binds our two countries together. This year, a new chapter begins between the Republic of Kosovo and the Syrian Arab Republic, with mutual recognition between our two states,” Osmani said.

Osmani assured the Syrians that Kosovo stands close to them, saying that “we are excited about the future of our partnership.”

“This recognition is a moral bond between two peoples who understand the cost of freedom and the value of standing side by side for a more just world. We are excited about the future of our partnership. The Republic of Kosovo is committed to work closely with you in the years ahead, bringing our two nations closer in friendship and cooperation. Dear friends in Syria, Kosovo stands with you. We will be your partner, friend and ally at every step of the journey. From Pristina to Damascus, our hearts beat as one; for freedom, for dignity and for lasting friendship between our two countries. Happy Liberation Day,” she said.
