The number of fixed-line telephony users in Kosovo increased in May 2026 compared to the same period last year, although traffic over this network declined. This is according to the latest Transport and Telecommunications Statistics report from the Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS), as reported by KosovaPress.
According to KAS, the number of fixed-line network users reached 70,816 in May, representing a 3.4 percent increase compared to May 2025, when 68,478 users were recorded.
Conversely, fixed-line telephony traffic fell by 4.1 percent. During May 2026, 1,789,637 minutes of communication were recorded, compared to 1,866,512 minutes in the same month of the previous year.
Meanwhile, the number of prepaid users during this period stood at 1,516,860—an increase of 2.72% compared to the same period last year—while the number of postpaid users was 318,946, representing a 1.65% increase over the same period last year. fixed-line telephony
Number of flights and air passengers drops
According to the KAS, the air transport sector has recorded a decline in the number of flights and passengers compared to the same period last year.
The KAS reports that 1,099 flights took place during May, representing a 6 percent decrease compared to May of the previous year. The total number of passengers reached 366,360, a drop of 4 percent. The number of arriving passengers fell by 0.4 percent, while the number of departing passengers declined by 7.3 percent.
In rail transport, the number of passengers increased by 1.6 percent compared to May of the previous year, reaching 8,628 passengers, while 182 tons of goods were transported by rail.
