The new building of the Tax Administration of Kosovo (TAK) in Mitrovica has been inaugurated during a ceremony attended by central and local institutional representatives.
Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, said that the new facility provides modern working conditions and will serve citizens from the entire Mitrovica region.
“We are here to inaugurate the new building of the Tax Administration of Kosovo, where at my left side is also the executive director, Mentor Hyseni. We saw a highly suitable working facility, consisting of three levels with around one thousand square meters in total. Of these, 750 square meters have been renovated, while 250 square meters are an annex that has been added. There are around 30 offices, 11 bathrooms, air conditioning, heating, and modern working conditions. Citizens from the municipalities of the Mitrovica region will now be served here. This is a joyful day for the state of Kosovo and for all citizens in the north and south, Albanians, Serbs, Bosniaks, because the Republic makes no ethnic distinctions, on the contrary, it ensures services for all citizens according to their rights and needs. Our presence here is proof of our commitment to tax collection and proper public service for citizens,” Kurti said.
The Director of TAK, Mentor Hyseni, described this investment as important for businesses in the region.
“This is an important event, especially for the citizens of Mitrovica who carry out business activities, so that they can receive services just like all businesses across Kosovo. I would take this opportunity to thank the Minister of Internal Affairs and the Minister of Finance for this initiative and for the very fast work that was done in record time and with high quality, as we saw inside,” Hyseni said.
Meanwhile, the Mayor of South Mitrovica, Faton Peci, said this is another step in improving public services.
“This is one of the actions of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo in function of providing services to citizens. This office, in addition to the city of Mitrovica, also covers a regional aspect, and we are here to inaugurate, support, and applaud the actions of Kosovo’s institutions in this case towards governance,” Peci said.
