Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti has called on citizens to go out and vote in today’s local elections.
After exercising his constitutional right to vote in Pristina, Kurti said that today is an important day to decide who will lead the municipalities, which are responsible for essential services such as schools, water, and infrastructure.
“Today is an important day. We vote to decide the next four years for our municipalities — for kindergartens, schools, water, health, services, and infrastructure in the neighborhoods of cities and villages. Besides being citizens of Kosovo, we are also residents of the municipality. Therefore, I urge citizens to exercise their right and become stakeholders in solving the problems they face,” said Kurti.
The total number of voters inside and outside Kosovo in Pristina is over 224,000.
There are 54 regular polling centers, with 268 polling stations and one conditional polling center.
The polling center at the Faculty of Philology is one of the largest centers in the capital.
Voting is taking place today in 38 municipalities across Kosovo. These are regular local elections, with a total of 2,069,068 eligible voters.
