KosovaPress reported he was seen in Pristina, Grubi surrenders in Blace

The former First Deputy Prime Minister of North Macedonia, for whom an international arrest warrant had been issued, surrendered on Monday morning at the Blace border crossing.

The Ministry of Interior of the country announced that he presented himself there at 06:10 and was immediately deprived of his liberty for further procedures.

KosovaPress had reported as early as January 7 that the former senior official of the Democratic Union for Integration had been seen in Pristina, moving in an area not far from the capital’s city center, accompanied by two children.

Grubi, as the source who claimed to have seen him had insisted, was wearing a winter jacket, sports clothes and a cap, and had also grown a short beard.

On December 16, 2024, after the Prosecutor’s Office for the Prosecution of Organized Crime and Corruption opened an investigation against Grubi over serious abuses involving tenders at the “State Lottery,” it was announced that he had left the country.

In addition to him, North Macedonian police are still searching for the former director of the “State Lottery,” Përparim Bajrami, while the former director of EMV, Vasko Kovacevski, also remains at large.
