On March 27, 1999, two Serbian bomber aircraft targeted the headquarters of the KosovaPress News Agency and Radio Kosova e Lirë in the village of Berishe.
As a result of the attack, Elbasan Jakup Berisha, a 16-year-old, was killed, while his two parents and six other members of the family were injured.
A day earlier, the same aircraft had struck the former headquarters of the spokesperson of the KLA General Staff, Jakup Krasniqi, in Klecke.
At around 08:20 PM, two Yugoslav MiG-21 aircraft targeted a neighborhood in the village of Berishe, where the headquarters of the radio and the agency—two key information institutions of the KLA General Staff—were located.
The aircraft dropped four cluster bomb containers each, over an area stretching from the house of Osman Berisha, to the house of Asllan Berisha, and up to the house of Mehmet Berisha, covering a distance of about 300 meters.
