The chairman of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Enver Hoxhaj reacted to the stance of the Spanish Football Federation, which referred to Kosovo as a territory and not as a state. Hoxhaj wrote on Twitter that Kosovo is an independent and sovereign state. He has said that this is a fact and cannot be changed.
“Disappointed to see Spain’s destructive behavior towards Kosovo even when it comes to sports. Kosovo is an independent and sovereign country and this fact will not be diminished by this kind of behavior. I expect UEFA to react properly.”
