A fire has engulfed the Golesh Mountain since last evening and continues to burn today.
According to reports from KosovaPress, the fire has spread across a wide area of the mountain, burning vegetation near the village of Sankoc and other villages.
Meanwhile, firefighters are attempting to control the blaze, but sources tell KosovaPress that it is unlikely the fire can be extinguished using only the resources of the Drenas fire brigade.
KosovaPress has tried to contact the fire department in the Municipality of Drenas, but they have not responded.
Sources say that the fire cannot be extinguished by carrying 25 liters of water. Meanwhile, the Drenas firefighters reportedly have only one air blower device available.
“The fire could potentially be extinguished if there were three or four air blower devices available”, the source said.
