Kosovo’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Donika Gërvalla, met today in Istanbul with Turkey’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hakan Fidan.
Gërvalla stated that the bilateral meeting took place at the invitation of Minister Fidan, within the framework of the second meeting of the Peace Platform for the Balkans.
Through a Facebook post, she emphasized that Turkey, as a friendly state and close ally of Kosovo, remains an important partner in promoting peace, stability, and regional cooperation.
According to her, through its engagement in this platform, Kosovo reaffirms its strategic orientation toward Euro-Atlantic integration, including membership in the European Union and NATO, as well as its commitment to sustainable peace, good-neighborly relations, and regional stability.
Minister Gërvalla also highlighted the importance of deepening cooperation in the field of security and joint efforts for a safer region.
In conclusion, she thanked Minister Fidan for the invitation and hospitality, reiterating the excellent relations and strong partnership between Kosovo and Turkey, as well as Turkey’s role in advancing dialogue, peace, and stability in the region and beyond.
