The extraordinary session invited by the opposition has begun, where the “scandals in the Kosovo Energy Corporation” are being discussed. The Vetëvendosje MPs are not participating in the session chaired by Speaker Glauk Konjufca.
The head of the LDK Parliamentary Group, Arben Gashi, said that this session is necessary for the situation, as he called it, alarming caused by mismanagement and illegal interventions.
He presented the seven-point resolution, which calls for an investigation “for KEK scandals”.
According to this resolution, Gashi said that the Assembly requires competent authorities to investigate the intervention of unauthorized persons in the management and decision-making of KEK and an investigation into Dejona Mihali.
The tendering processes, as Gashi said, have shown mismanagement and illegal interference. According to him, the specific issues that require treatment are the scandals with single-source tenders and the lack of competition in public procurement. He added that the second issue that should be discussed is the sale and purchase of electricity and the financial impact on the country’s budget. Gashi said that reports show that KEK has signed unfavorable contracts which have damaged the financial stability of the corporation.
