Deputies have failed — for the 48th time — to constitute the ninth legislature.
The latest attempt by the Vetëvendosje Movement to form the commission for the secret vote of the parliamentary speaker again did not receive support from other political parties.
The session was interrupted and its continuation will take place on July 19 at 11:00, as reported by KosovaPress.
This time, the leader of LVV, Albin Kurti, who is also the acting prime minister, was not present in the session, as he is attending a seminar in Greece.
The chair of the constitutive session, Avni Dehari, again invited political parties to propose names of candidates for the Ad-hoc Commission for secret voting in the election of the Assembly speaker, but once again the other parties in the Assembly did not propose any names; rather, they requested that the chair return to the agreed agenda for an open vote.
Moreover, at several moments, there were sharp clashes between deputies from parties that have so far been in opposition and the chair of the session, Avni Dehari.
