The leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Lumir Abdixhiku, has stated that he will participate in the consultative meeting to set the date for the new extraordinary elections, called by the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani.
Without making many comments on the president’s decision to issue the decree to dissolve the Assembly, the LDK leader said they are in Prekaz and that in this sacred place, political matters have no place, KosovaPress reports.
“This is a very extraordinary day, and political matters in this sacred place have no place. Yes, we have a meeting at 13:00. From here, after the visit, we will go to Baca Rifat’s tower, to attend the meeting with the president to set the date of the next elections, and there I believe I will make a statement to the media,” he said.
Earlier this morning, the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, issued the decree to dissolve the Assembly of Kosovo following last night’s failure of the ruling party, Vetëvendosje Movement, to elect a new president.
