34 new apartments were inaugurated today for non-majority communities who live in difficult conditions.

All this support was provided within the housing project for families who lived in collective centers. This is what the EU Ambassador in Kosovo, Tomas Szunyog, who together with Prime Minister Kurti, took part in the inauguration ceremony, said.

While Szunyog said that this project has supported a total of 34 families, he added that for them, a new life begins today.

Ambassador Szunyog also stated that supporting this event once again reaffirms the role of the European Union as the largest donor in Kosovo.

He further added that this project is a joint initiative established by the European Union and the Government of Kosovo through the Ministry of Communities and Returns in order to find sustainable housing solutions for displaced persons belonging to non-majority communities.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister of the country, Albin Kurti, said that even with this project, the Government is fulfilling its commitments.

While he expressed his happiness that all these families have been supported by this project, he said that handing over the keys reminds us of the doors of collective centers that have finally been closed, to start a better life.

The Minister for Communities and Returns, Nenad Rashiq, was also present at this ceremony. He said that the 34 apartments offered by this project are for 83 people, while he added that the ministry has also provided electrical equipment, mobile and food in order to make life easier for those citizens.

In this neighborhood of this municipality, the construction of two residential buildings, communal spaces and recreational areas has been done.
