The emigration of citizens to western countries, year after year is continuing to increase. During 2021 alone, 42 thousand 728 citizens left Kosovo. A large increase in migration has been recorded by the municipality of Gjilan with 4 thousand 320 citizens, who have 'left' the country. The eight municipalities most affected by migration are: Gjilan, Prizren, Prishtina, Vushtrri, Suhareka, Malisheva, Gjakova and Podujeva, KosovaPress reports. According to data from the Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) for the population estimate for 2021, it is said that the vast majority of emigrants for 2021 were legal immigrants.
