Today, nine years ago, was one of the most important days in the history of Kosovo's sports, where the long-standing isolation and discrimination of our sports and athletes was broken.

Today's date marks nine years since the membership of the Kosovo Olympic Committee (KOC) in the International Olympic Committee (IOC), reports KosovaPress.

KOC became a member of the IOC, in the 127th session held in Monaco, this membership which then opened the way for many sports federations in the country to join the relevant international federations.

"On this special day for the entire Olympic movement in the country, I take the opportunity to congratulate all those who contributed to the internationalization of KOC, but also to all those who sacrificed themselves and their families to keep our sport alive.

Endlessly grateful to the IOC with president Thomas Bach, for the decision taken, thanks to which today our athletes enjoy the equal right to compete and participate in the Olympic Games and not only", said Ismet Krasniqi, president of KOC.

The three Olympic gold medals from judo, many more in the World, European and Mediterranean Championships, and finally taking over the organization of the Prishtina 2030 Mediterranean Games, are evidence that despite being a new and small country in the world Olympic movement, we know the way to the podiums of the biggest events and the organization of the highest level.
