65 houses completely flooded in the "Bosniak Quarter", over half a million euros in damages
The "Bosniak Quarter" in the north of Mitrovica, inhabited by a mixed population, is the area most affected by the floods in both municipalities of this city.
The situation is estimated to be alarming in this quarter, while there are about 65 houses completely flooded and about 100 others partially flooded.
Many residents from here have taken shelter in hotels in the south of the city and are supported by the municipality of South Mitrovica. Many others have settled with their families everywhere, while the North Mitrovica Municipal Assembly is considering the possibility of supporting others.
Skender Selimi, a resident of this neighborhood, tells KosovaPress that the water flooded his house very quickly, catching him by surprise and the family members were barely saved.
According to him, the damage caused amounts to around 30 thousand euros
