Project Manager for the initiative "Fighting Serious Crime in the Western Balkans-IPA 2019" Carlo Verdiglione from the Italian Ministry of Internal Affairs, met yesterday in Pristina with the Minister of Internal Affairs and Public Administration Xhelal Sveçla and the General Director of Kosovo Police Driton Mehmeti. He was accompanied by the Italian Ambassador to Kosovo, Nicola Orlando and the resident expert in Pristina, Giovanni Mastrolorito. Funded by the European Commission, Italy and Germany under the IPA 2019 Pre-Accession Instrument program, the "Fighting Serious Crime in the Western Balkans" program will invest around € 18 million by 2023 and focuses on investigation, participation and contribution in the EU, as well as the structures and assessments of inter-regional cooperation, and the exchange of information.
