The Mayor of Pristina, Përparim Rama, has accused the central level of blocking projects in this municipality. In a press conference where he presented the achievements for 2024 and the plans for the current year, Rama called the government’s actions towards the capital unreasonable and tendentious.

The Mayor of Pristina, Përparim Rama, said that the “Capital Ring” project continues to be blocked by the government, although as he stated, the municipality has provided 40% of the budget.

"The other issue of great interest for the capital and all of Kosovo, which has been a challenge and continues to be a challenge, is the capital's ring road. It is a key project not only for the capital, but for all of Kosovo, including now that we have the 2030 Mediterranean Olympic Games. This project, which has a cost of 206 million euros, is ready, it has also been enabled to be part of the interconnections of the Mediterranean connections, of all Mediterranean roads, continues to stand as a project that is not supported by the government, despite the fact that we have 40% of the budget which would be a donation, it would be a grant... however, a guarantee was requested from the government and this was not done, they do not see it as a project that is of great importance for the capital or Kosovo... I hope that in 2025 we will have a reflection from the government to invest in this major project", said Rama.
