​Kosovo is challenged by the circulation of the dinar, Mehmeti talks about economic growth: Up to 4%

The governor of the Central Bank of Kosovo, Fehmi Mehmeti, announced that the CBK's forecast for this year is that the rate of economic growth will be around 4 percent. Meanwhile, he also says that for the year we have just entered, they forecast a decrease in inflation (price reduction) to 6 percent, a rate which, as he emphasizes, will contribute to economic growth.

The circulation of the Serbian currency, the dinar, in some Kosovo municipalities with a Serbian majority remains a challenge for the country. While, the good the good news is the continuous increase in income from the diaspora, remittances which have reached about 1 billion euros only for ten months of 2022.

In an interview for KosovaPress, Governor Mehmeti has confirmed that he has entered the race to continue leading the CBK for another 5-year term.
