During the past year, there was an increase in waste disposal in Kosovo, over 43 thousand tons more than in 2021.

This was announced by the Minister of Environment, Spatial Planning and Infrastructure, Liburn Aliu, during today's report to the Parliamentary Committee on the Environment.

Aliu, presenting the environmental report for 2022, said that the state of the environment in Kosovo is not good, as he mentioned air pollution especially during the winter, pollution of rivers, soil and large waste disposal.

The review of the environmental report for 2022 at the end of 2023 was opposed by the PDK MP, Ganimete Musliu, who said that this report should come at the beginning of the year for review in the Assembly. She criticized Minister Aliu for the state of the environment, while underlining that Kosovo has turned into a garbage dump.

On the other hand, the AAK MP, Albena Reshitaj, said that the Kurti Government does not prioritize the protection of the environment.

Other MPs also addressed concerns about the environmental report for 2022, where they asked the executive to take measures to protect the environment.
