24 years since the massacre in Upper Abri
On September 26, 1998, in Upper Abri, Serbian forces committed one of the most terrible massacres during the war in Kosovo. On this day, 23 members of the Deliu family were massacred, among them women, children and old people, from the age of six months to 94 years.
From September 25, the Deliu family took refuge in the mountains to escape the Serbian attacks. A day later, on September 26, around 10:00 am, Serbian infantry attacked the zone, where gunshots and people's screams were heard.
After the attack, it was discovered that all the victims, children, old people, women and young people, had been shot in the head from close range. The bodies of the executed showed clear evidence of a massacre.
