World Refugee Day

World Refugee Day

World Refugee Day aims to draw attention to the suffering of tens of millions of refugees worldwide. On World Refugee Day many of them have no hope of returning to their homeland. Millions of families have lost their homes during conflicts of violence and war. The General Assembly therefore decided that June 20 should be marked as World Refugee Day.

World Refugee Day was established by the United Nations to honor the courage, strength and determination of women, men and children who are forced to flee their homes under the threat of persecution, conflict and violence.
