The Collective for Feminist Thought and Action reacted on the occasion of International Workers’ Day, stating that they began the day with a symbolic road blockade to, as they said, “announce the truth of the working class.”
According to their statement, workers in Kosovo are facing increasingly difficult living conditions, including low wages, a lack of social security, high prices, and what they describe as neglect by institutions and exploitation by both the public and private sectors.
The reaction emphasized that various social groups, including women, private sector workers, pensioners, and marginalized communities, are facing different forms of injustice and exclusion.
The Collective argues that the economy is developing at the expense of the majority of citizens, while the benefits, according to them, are being concentrated in the hands of a small minority.
They also announced that the previously planned protest has been suspended as a symbolic gathering, describing this as a moment of reflection to restore, in their words, the real power of protest and working-class organization.
In conclusion, the Collective for Feminist Thought and Action called for unity and organization among workers, stressing that change can only come through collective action.
