Every year, the Kosovo Police confiscates around 1500 illegal weapons of various types. This was said at the opening of the campaign, “Celebrate with heart, not with guns”, organized by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and UNDP.
The campaign which started today aims to raise awareness about the danger of possession and misuse of small and light weapons.
The Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Blerim Gashani, said that the use of weapons without permission continues to be a concern for Kosovo.
Niels Knudsen from UNDP said that almost every day there are incidents resulting from the use of weapons.
