The Kosovo Assembly has failed for the 34th time to be constituted.
After the failure of the 34th session, which did not last even three minutes, to constitute the Kosovo Assembly, the next session has been scheduled.
The chair of the session, Avni Dehari, announced that the 35th session, in an attempt to constitute the parliament, will be held on Saturday, June 21.
“51 deputies have voted in favor, 1 was against, no abstentions. We do not have a quorum, so we will see each other on 21.06.25 at 10:30,” said Dehari.
Besides the swearing-in of the elected deputies, the new Assembly remains unconstituted due to the lack of election of the new speaker and deputy speakers.
The Democratic Party of Kosovo, the Democratic League of Kosovo, the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, and NISMA are not giving their votes to the candidate proposed for speaker by the Vetëvendosje Movement, Guxo, and Alternativa.
Albulena Haxhiu has failed to pass the vote, and in the absence of this, Vetëvendosje, Guxo, and Alternativa are requesting a commission for a secret ballot vote, for which the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo has requested an interpretation from the Constitutional Court.
Recall, parliamentary elections were held on February 9. The first meeting to constitute the new Assembly was held on April 15. Since that date, continuation sessions have been held every 48 hours without achieving any concrete result.
