The head of the AAK Parliamentary Group, Besnik Tahiri, said that the Law on public officials and the one on salaries are the biggest virus that has entered the state administration. After the approval of the two draft laws by the government cabinet, he emphasized that both of these legal initiatives kill the hope of every state official. He added that they should not be passed to the Assembly without being amended and that they should also be banned through the interpretation of the Constitutional Court.
At the press conference, Tahiri said that the state administration has been deformed in the name of reform.
“Today, the Government of Kosovo, in the name of reform, has essentially deformed the state administration with the approval of two laws, which return Kosovo to the time of UNMIK. There is no country neither on the continent of Europe, nor in the Western Balkans, which tries to capture the state administration by law, where through the Law on Public Officials, 1,600 positions are turned from career civil service positions into political four-year term mandated positions that means a big blow to the state of Kosovo, the administration and meritocracy”, said Tahiri.
