Kosovo has violated relations with the United States of America, says former chief negotiator Edita Tahiri. According to her, Kosovo has never had such relations with the country’s biggest ally. While talking about the statement of the US Assistant Secretary of State, James O’Brien, Tahiri considers that his warning is alarming and disturbing.
The former minister for dialogue blames Prime Minister Albin Kurti, whom she calls a deceiver and ignorant. In the interview for KosovaPress, she estimates that the opposition should be united and citizens should organize protests to oppose such an approach of the chief executive with international allies.
The former chief negotiator of Kosovo in the talks with Serbia, says that the USA itself has openly said that the relations between the two countries have been violated.
Edita Tahiri, who once led the talks with Serbia in Brussels, considers that Kurti is anti-American and it is not known where he is headed.
However, Tahiri declares that the decision of the local institutions to ban the Serbian dinar is right. But, she considers that she should have cooperated with the allies to postpone the implementation.
The former minister for dialogue also talks about the meeting of the Security Council, where she says that for the first time in history, Kosovo has been criticized by the allies.
According to Tahiri, the chief executive has prepared his electorate with anti-American beliefs. She blames Prime Minister Albin Kurti for the violation of relations with the United States of America.
On the 16th anniversary of Kosovo’s declaration of independence, former chief negotiator Edita Tahiri estimates that the government has failed not only in dialogue.
The American Assistant Secretary of State, James O’Brien, said that Kosovo is jeopardizing the partnership with the United States of America, after the decision to ban the Serbian dinar. Then, Prime Minister Albin Kurti said that Kosovo has no more important partner, ally or friend than the United States of America.
For this reason, during the past week, the American ambassador, Jeff Hovenier, stated that the decision of Kosovo to implement the regulation of the Central Bank of Kosovo for the ban of the Serbian dinar, has affected the quality of relations between the United States and the Government of Kosovo.
