The acting Minister for Communities and Returns, Nenad Rashiq, declared that he will vote for Fatmir Limaj as the Speaker of the Assembly, if he is the candidate proposed by the Vetëvendosje Movement. He said that he has no information indicating that he will no longer be Minister for Communities and Returns.
Before the start of the session, which is the 23rd attempt to constitute the assembly, Rashiq said there is a willingness from the acting Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, for him to be part of the government.
“This is the first time I’m hearing this… We haven’t discussed it [with Albin Kurti], except that there is willingness from the Vetëvendosje Movement and the Prime Minister for me to be part of the government, and what you said is something new to me, but in politics it is normal to have changes of options or plans, or ministers,” he declared.
MP Rashiq said he will vote for Fatmir Limaj as Speaker, if he is proposed for the position.
“Until now, no [I am not informed if there is a new proposal today for Speaker]… Yes, yes [I will vote for Fatmir Limaj as Speaker]. Because, as I said earlier, the responsibility is the concept where you have to accept that there is a majority that has the process of constitution, and I have known Limaj personally for years because the first time we were in government together was in 2007, almost 18 years ago. Therefore, I have no objections,” he added.
