Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama stated today that the Albanian government aims to eliminate the use of cash and move entirely to digital transactions and interactions by the end of this decade.
According to Rama, the goal is for all payments and transactions to be conducted digitally by the end of the decade, a goal he has also previously stated, KosovaPress reports.
During a meeting held in the city of Berat with representatives from the technology, innovation, and startup sectors, as part of the “Albania 2030 in the European Union” vision, the Prime Minister emphasized that this is an ambitious objective requiring major efforts.
The meeting in Berat was held in the framework of discussions on the challenges and priorities that Albania must address in order to meet its objectives toward European integration and the complete modernization of Albanian society. /KosovaPress
