Produce prices hike in Kosovo

The overall Producer Price Index (PPI) in Kosovo for the third quarter of 2025, compared to the second quarter of 2025, increased by 1.3 percent. Likewise, according to the Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS), compared to the same period last year (Q3 2024), the PPI rose by 5.5 percent.

KAS reports that the largest increases by economic activity sectors were observed in: other manufacturing (+4.7%), electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply (+3.9%), furniture production (+2.7%), machinery and equipment production (+2.0%), electrical equipment production (+1.9%), metal production (+1.3%), food processing (+0.7%), paper and paper products production (+0.5%), non-metallic mineral products (+0.2%), and metal ore extraction (+0.1%).

According to KAS, these increases were offset by price decreases in: motor vehicles (transport), trailers, and semi-trailers (-2.9%), water collection, treatment, and supply (-1.7%), textile production (-1.0%), mining and quarrying (-0.8%), waste collection, treatment, and disposal activities (-0.8%), wood and cork products, except furniture, straw and braided materials production (-0.4%), beverage production (-0.1%), chemical products production (-0.1%), and fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment (-0.1%).

Meanwhile, production prices in Kosovo increased by an average of 5.5% between Q3 2025 and Q3 2024.

“The largest increases by economic activity sectors were observed in: motor vehicles (transport), trailers, and semi-trailers (+23.01%), electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply (+20.8%), textile production (+14.2%), processing of pharmaceutical products and preparations (+8.1%), clothing production (+7.9%), furniture production (+7.8%), printing and reproduction of recorded media (+7.0%), machinery and equipment production (+5.1%), electrical equipment production (+5.0%), water collection, treatment, and supply (+5.0%), food processing (+3.1%), paper and paper products production (+2.9%), wood and cork products, except furniture: straw and braided materials production (+0.9%), non-metallic mineral products production (+0.4%), chemical products production (+0.1%),” the statement said.

Meanwhile, the increase was offset by price declines in: other manufacturing (-15.9%), metal production (-10.4%), mining and quarrying (-6.0%), metal ore extraction (-2.5%), rubber and plastics production (-1.7%), waste collection, treatment, and disposal; materials recovery (-1.5%), beverage production (-0.8%).
