Illegal weapons, ammunition, and other items have once again been found by the Kosovo Police in the northern part of the country.
According to the law enforcement authorities, this arsenal was discovered today during an operation in a shared basement of a building on “Vasilije Ostroški” Street in North Mitrovica.
The Police reported that during the search, the following were confiscated: 3 long firearms, 1 continuous barrel, 1 stock for a long firearm, 764 rounds of ammunition of various calibers, 14 magazines, 10 ammunition clips, 1 smoke hand grenade, 2 military bulletproof vests, 4 potential DNA samples, 2 military jackets, 1 shirt and 1 pair of military pants, along with textile wraps and adhesive tape.
The State Prosecutor has been notified about the case and has instructed the initiation of proceedings for the criminal offense of “Unauthorized possession, control, or ownership of weapons,” the statement said.
No arrests have been made in this case, and the investigation is ongoing.
