President Vjosa Osmani in the annual address to the MPs of the Assembly of Kosovo, referring to Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, said that accommodating autocrats is not the right way. She said that Serbia continues to finance criminal gangs in the north, but promised that the latter will face justice. Osmani added that the presence of the Serbian army in Kosovo ended in 1999, while she assured that the territorial integrity of the country will not be affected.
According to her, the dialogue should focus on mutual recognition, while the application for membership in the Council of Europe and the EU are culminating events. Speaking about foreign policy, she said without naming names that Kosovo no longer has border traders and people who flirt with Serbia and Russia. As for the justice system, she said that there should be no place for those who blackmail.
After praising the contribution of the Kosovo Liberation Army and President Ibrahim Rugova in the journey for freedom and independence, President Vjosa Osmani, who was boycotted by the opposition parties PDK and AAK, also mentioned the war in Ukraine.
She said that Kosovo supports Ukraine in its fight for freedom while stating that those who hesitate to support this country become complicit in Russia’s crimes against innocent civilians.
