Milenkovic, Vlajic, and Pantic sentenced to prison for the attack on MEC offices in the north

Milun Milenkovic-Lune, Aleksandar Vlajic, and Dejan Pantic were found guilty by the Basic Court in Prishtina for the attack on the offices of the Municipal Election Commission (MEC) in North Mitrovica in December 2022. Milenkovic and Vlajic were sentenced to five years in prison each, while Pantic received a two-year prison sentence. Miomir Vakic was acquitted of the charges in the court’s verdict.

The verdict was announced today, July 28, at the Basic Court in Prishtina.

The presiding judge, Valon Kurtaj, announced the verdict for the accused, who were not present in the courtroom.

The defendants Milun Milenkovic, Aleksandar Vlajic, and Dejan Pantic are each required to pay €200 in procedural costs and €100 to the Crime Victims Compensation Fund.

This verdict may be appealed within fifteen days.

The Kosovo Prosecution filed the indictment in December 2023 for the criminal offense of “terrorist act.”

They were accused of carrying out an explosive attack on the Central Election Commission offices in Kosovo, endangering the lives of officials and members of the Kosova Police.
