The spokesperson of the Kosovo Police for the Gjilan region, Ismet Hashani, stated that the mayor of the municipality of Ranilug was interviewed in the presence of a lawyer regarding the violation of the secrecy of voting.
Hashani told KosovaPress that, by decision of the State Prosecutor, she was released after the interview, while the case “Violation of the secrecy of voting” will continue to be investigated by the Regional Investigation Unit in Gjilan in full coordination with the Basic Prosecution.
“On 28.12.2025, through operative channels, we received information that a member of the Women’s Forum Presidency from the Serbian List party, and currently the Mayor of Ranilug, is suspected of, through members of the Municipal Election Commission of this party in Ranilug, influencing undecided voters or voters of other parties. It is suspected that these voters were threatened with the interruption of benefits they receive from the state of Serbia in case they did not vote according to instructions. The suspect was taken to the premises of the regional investigation unit and interviewed in the presence of a lawyer in order to verify the information and clarify the circumstances. After the interview, by decision of the State Prosecutor, she was released, while the case “Violation of the secrecy of voting” will continue to be investigated by the Regional Investigation Unit in Gjilan in full coordination with the Basic Prosecution,” Hashani said.
The mayor of Ranilug, Tanja Antiq, is suspected of influencing undecided voters in the early elections through members of the Municipal Election Commission of the Serbian List.
It is suspected that these voters were threatened with the interruption of benefits they receive from the state of Serbia if they did not vote according to instructions.
The suspect was taken to the premises of the regional investigation unit and interviewed in the presence of a lawyer in order to verify the information and clarify the circumstances.
