The Acting Prime Minister and leader of the Vetëvendosje Movement, Albin Kurti, has thanked citizens for their participation in the runoff of the local elections held yesterday in eighteen municipalities across the country.
In a Facebook post, Kurti expressed his gratitude to the citizens who exercised their right to vote, emphasizing that they demonstrated democratic will and maturity and contributed to shaping public policy directions in their municipalities.
“Now hold each mayor accountable for their promises and for the situation in your cities and villages,” Kurti wrote, stressing the importance of local accountability.
The head of government also addressed Vetëvendosje activists, noting that after the latest runoff, the movement will govern in seven municipalities of the Republic of Kosovo — “more than ever before.”
“Our movement could not be stopped even by the unification of all our opponents. Thank you to each of you for your dedication. Many tasks and challenges lie ahead of us, which means many successes and victories await,” Kurti added.
