Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti said that relations with the United States have not been broken, but that there are some differences.
A week after the U.S. decided to suspend the strategic dialogue with Kosovo, Kurti said the differences with Washington relate to the stance towards Serbia and the parallel structures in the north.
However, he added that the messages and statements of the U.S. will be taken seriously.
“I want to clarify that this is about the suspension of strategic planning, not the strategic dialogue as a launched process. We have not broken with America, but we do have some differences. The government takes the U.S. statements and messages seriously,” he said.
“In the field of diplomacy, we have some differences regarding the positions towards Serbia and the illegal structures in the north,” Kurti added at the opening of the acting government’s meeting on Friday, September 19.
“Although the opposition is exaggerating every development in a negative light regarding our government’s relations with the U.S. administration, I do not want to minimize the recent developments,” Kurti said. /KosovaPress
