The American ambassador to Kosovo, Jeffrey Hovenier, after paying homage to the grave of former president Ibrahim Rugova, wrote that he joined President Vjosa Osmani and Prime Minister Albin Kurti and other Kosovar leaders to honor Ibrahim Rugova on the 18th anniversary of his death.
“President Rugova’s legacy – that of a leader who advocated for peaceful resistance while demanding equal rights and freedoms for all citizens – is an inspiration here in Kosovo and around the world” he wrote.
