Kosovo’s national team is preparing for the challenges in League B of the UEFA Nations League, while head coach Franco Foda has made the team’s objectives for this edition clear. He assessed that Austria remains the group favorite, but stressed that the “Dardanians” will fight to the maximum for second place and to preserve their status at this level of competition.
Speaking about the group composition, Foda emphasized that it is a strong competition where every point will carry significant weight. He said the main goal is to do everything possible to secure second place, while underlining that maintaining their level and avoiding relegation to League C is the minimum the team aims to achieve.
“It is clear that Austria are the favorites, but it is an interesting group. Our goal is to do everything to reach second place because it is a strong group. At the very least, we must maintain our level and not drop to League C,” Foda stated.
The head coach also spoke about his return to Austria, describing the match against his former players as an emotional moment. He said he is happy to face them and hopes for strong support from Albanian fans in Austria. However, he stressed that his focus remains on preparations for the March matches. Kosovo will begin this campaign aiming to continue with positive performances and to prove that they belong in League B.
“As for returning to Austria, I am happy to play against them, to see my former players, and I hope we will have great support in Austria. But my focus is still on March,” the Kosovo coach concluded.
