Today is May 9 – Europe Day. The Declaration of May 9, 1950 is the time when the first step was taken towards the creation of what is today known as the European Union. French Foreign Minister Robert Schuman read out a statement to the international press calling on France, Germany and other European countries to unite their coal and steel products, which would be the first concrete foundation for a future European federation.
This day has been celebrated for years in Kosovo, where in its honor, various activities will be organized by the European Union Office in Kosovo.
