Decree for constitutive session to form new government expected to be published today

The date for the constitutive session to form the new government is expected to be announced today. This was confirmed to KosovaPress by the media advisor to President Vjosa Osmani, Bekim Kupina.

This move is expected to mark the beginning of the procedures for forming the new government.

The Central Election Commission (CEC) certified the final results on Thursday, March 27, according to which LVV (Vetevendosje Movement) won 48 seats, PDK (Democratic Party of Kosovo) came second with 24 seats, LDK (Democratic League of Kosovo) secured 20 seats, and the AAK-Nisma coalition won 8 seats.

A few days ago, President Vjosa Osmani stated that the date for the constitutive session of the Kosovo Assembly would be set soon. The legal deadline for this is 30 days, according to ​KosovaPress.

Prime Minister Albin Kurti, during his Eid al-Fitr greetings on Sunday, March 30, at the Islamic Community, told Mufti Naim Tërnava that they aim to elect the Assembly’s Speaker and form the new government during the same session when MPs take their oath.
