Regarding the murder of police officer Muhamed Lika in Kacanik, two individuals are suspected in this case, said the Chief Prosecutor of the Basic Prosecutor’s Office in Ferizaj, Burim Cerkini.
He stated that it is suspected that the suspects fled on foot from the crime scene, reports KosovaPress. In a press conference, Chief Prosecutor Çerkini confidently stated that it was not a robbery, as was initially reported.
“With the utmost certainty, I can say that this is not related to a robbery. From the moment we gathered evidence, there is no indication that the suspects had any intention of robbing him. The motive is clear—it was an execution,” he said.
The Chief Prosecutor added that the two suspects fled on foot from the scene and were only wearing hats, not masks. Police officer Muharrem Lika was initially injured last night around 11:00 PM with gunfire near his home in Kacanik, but later succumbed to his injuries.
In the past ten days, five citizens have been killed in Kosovo.
