The Central Election Commission has approved the procedure for voting outside Kosovo, according to which the envelope with the ballots must be received by the registered person, KosovaPress reports.
At the 54th meeting of the CEC, it was stated that the purpose of this document is to describe all the actions for preparing materials for voting outside Kosovo.
The procedure stipulates that the package with ballots that the CEC sends by mail to voters abroad can only be received by the registered person himself.
“The postal official must ensure that he checks the identification document of the person for whom the ballot envelope is intended,” this CEC procedure states.
The envelope that will be sent to the voter contains: the ballots; the secrecy envelope; the guide with information on how to fill out the ballots and how to vote by mail; the return envelope and the sealing tape.
In voting outside Kosovo for postal voting in Local Elections, the voter’s duty is to send the package with ballots to one of the CEC mailboxes that are opened in different countries.
According to the CEC, the addresses of the mailboxes will be published by the CEC before the start of the postal voting period.
At this meeting, the CEC also decided to decertify 9 candidates from different political entities, such as: Prishtina në druan tënde (1); Democratic Party of Kosovo (1); Movement for the Unity of Albanians (1); Egyptian Liberal Party (2) and Alternativa (4). These candidates were previously certified by the CEC for participation in the Local Elections, which will be held on 12th october 2024.
