AI, Osmani: We want technology that reflects our values, innovation that creates opportunities—not inequality

The Creative Hub Technology Academy organized today the conference “Expand to US and AI” with the aim of deepening cooperation between Kosovo and Miami.

On this occasion, the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, emphasized that Kosovo’s successes in the technology and innovation sector are the result of a generation that refused to be defined by limitations.

According to her, it is a generation that saw technology as a way to open doors that were once closed to them; a generation that understood that the future will belong not only to the big and powerful but also to the brave.

Osmani also stated that in every startup, initiative, and idea founded, Kosovo’s youth are proving that the country can compete and lead on the global stage.

“The focus of today’s conference, which is artificial intelligence, could not be more appropriate. It is transforming every field of life and every aspect of our societies, from healthcare to education, from public services to security. But most importantly, it depends on how we choose to use it—whether to empower us and elevate people, not replace them. Our vision has always been clear: we want technology that reflects our values, innovation that creates opportunities, not inequality. And, of course, for this reason, we must talk about inclusion. Because if the future of technology is built mostly by men, it could overlook female users and then expect them to fix the mistakes. As we all know, it is often women who have to ‘clean up the mess.’ So we already have enough sectors dominated solely by men; we don’t need to add another to the list,” Osmani emphasized.

Meanwhile, the director of Creative Hub Kosovo, Arijana Koskarova, stated that Kosovo’s talent is equal to talent anywhere in the world, and therefore equal conditions must be provided for Kosovo’s youth to thrive.

“In 2024, we achieved a major success: we became the first academy in the Balkans accredited by the U.S. Department of Education to issue American diplomas, not only for our students in the U.S. but also for our students in Kosovo. These American diplomas can be granted even if the program is followed in Albanian or English. This is how we managed to establish Albanian as equal to English. But expansion is not just about geography; it is about a mindset. It is about bringing together the best from the U.S. and the best from Kosovo,” she said.

She also emphasized that the Creative Hub Artificial Intelligence Scholarship Fund is an initiative to raise €100,000 to support youth across Kosovo in obtaining accredited American education and skills in the field of artificial intelligence.

The event was also attended by the current Mayor of Pristina, Përparim Rama, the current Mayor of Prizren, Shaqir Totaj, and representatives of technology businesses from Kosovo and abroad.
