During 2000 and the first half of 2001, the territories of the municipalities of Presheva, Bujanovc and Medvegja were the scene of armed confrontations between the police and the Liberation Army of Presheva, Medvegja and Bujanovc (LAPMB).
For the first time, its members appeared in public at the end of January 2000 in the village of Dobrosin (Bujanovc municipality) during the funeral of the murdered Shaqipi brothers.
