The imposition of fines on transporters of Northern Macedonia at the border crossings with Kosovo is temporarily suspended

The imposition of fines on transporters from northern Macedonia, which were imposed at Kosovo customs points, has been temporarily suspended, as a result of which economic activity has been hampered.

The news was announced by the Chamber of Commerce of North-West Macedonia where in a press release it was announced that this has been achieved thanks to their continued commitment and the commitment of The Chamber of Doing Business in Kosovo (CDBK).

“The imposition of fines on transporters from the Republic of Northern Macedonia was due to the lack of an agreement between the two governments but the joint reaction of the Chamber of Commerce of North-West Macedonia  and the CDBK made this imposition of fines temporarily suspended until an agreement is reached between the two countries on the transport of goods and services”, it is said in the communiqué.

The Chamber of Commerce of North-West Macedonia appeals to the relevant institutions of Northern Macedonia to take immediate steps towards finding a long-term agreement on this issue, in order not to damage the businesses of both parties, especially in this time of crisis when it is necessary to stimulate the economy and maintain socio-economic stability.
