The lack of support from the Government of Kosovo, the establishment of the fourth grant, were some of the complaints that were addressed to the president of the country, Vjosa Osmani in the Council of Mayors of the Association of Municipalities.
In this meeting, the role of municipalities in the prevention of gender-based violence, the role of local government in the development of tourism in Kosovo, the cooperation between the presidency and municipalities in the implementation of projects and other challenges in local governance were discussed.
The President of the Association of Municipalities of Kosovo, Agim Aliu, expressed concern about the support from the Government of Kosovo for the municipalities.
Meanwhile, the president of the country, Vjosa Osmani, emphasized that the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has asked the municipalities of Kosovo to make a greater contribution to eliminate gender-based violence.
The president said that she supports the municipalities’ request for additional budget to increase security in social work centers.
Vjosa Osmani, in a meeting with the Council of Mayors of the Association of Municipalities, said that it is necessary for the victims of gender-based violence to be supported at the local level.
