Vote counting begins today at the Municipal Counting Centers in Kosovo

The Central Election Commission (CEC) has announced that the counting of votes at Kosovo’s Municipal Counting Centers will begin on June 8, with the process starting at 4:00 p.m. in some municipalities and at 9:00 a.m. in smaller municipalities.

At these centers, votes cast for political parties and candidates for parliament will be reconfirmed, a process expected to take several days.

CEC Chairman Kreshnik Radoniqi said that the final election results will be announced only after the counting of diaspora votes, postal votes, votes cast at diplomatic missions, conditional ballots, and ballots cast by persons with special needs.

“The final result will be announced after the counting of diaspora votes, postal votes, and votes cast at diplomatic missions. Conditional ballots and ballots cast by persons with special needs will also be counted, and only after all votes have been counted will the final result be announced. Starting tomorrow, counting will begin at the Municipal Counting Centers. It will not start in all municipalities in the morning. In some municipalities, counting will begin at 4:00 p.m. because election materials will be collected throughout the night, and we want to give counting teams an opportunity to rest and Municipal Election Commissions the chance to become involved in the counting process. In smaller municipalities, counting will begin at 9:00 a.m.,” Radoniqi said.

Radoniqi also announced that after the election materials are received, all ballot boxes will be verified.
